SEASONAL FARM LABOURER Planting seed potatoes is a dynamic activity that requires communication and teamwork to successfully and safely complete on time. The detail and quality of the planting job is critical for the year round success of the operation. The role of the Nova Scotia operation is to multiply seed potatoes for one season as part of a vertically integrated program to supply processing potatoes for two Cavendish Farms French fry plants on PEI. Our planting season starts mid-April to end of June for approximately 6-8 weeks and is heavily influenced by the weather. Our team must work together in a safe manner to complete the work. Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Able to lift 50lbs regularly
Able to do repetitive work that requires high attention to detail
Key responsibilities:
Grading and planting potatoes including seed cutting
Equipment and yard maintenance, irrigation
Equipment operation, if qualified
All other duties as assigned
