Child Home Services (CHS)

offers a range of models of home supports (i.e., family supports, care provider home, group care homes, individualized homes, independent living, mentored living) to children, youth, and families who are dealing with challenges related to the experience of trauma and/or living with a disability. Our community-based resources are designed to support connection with family and community, a sense of belonging, development of skills, and provide opportunities to engage in a meaningful life.

Family Stepping Stones (FSS)

offers supports for families who struggle with parenting due to various factors (e.g., substance use, mental health, lack of resources, trauma, lack of supports, etc.) and whose children are in care of CFS or at risk of coming into care.


We are currently seeking a Home Supervisor for a specialized home that is designed to assist children and youth to develop life skills, social skills and/or access community resources. Individual care and guidance is provided to align with the needs of the child/youth to assist with mental health issues, behavioral challenges, or addictions. We provide stabilization through predictable structures, clear expectations and positive behavior support.

Responsibilities include

(but are not limited to)Case management, Counselling and developing treatment plans, Supervising and evaluating staff, Supporting children and youth living in the homes, Orienting, training and scheduling staff, Tracking home maintenance and repairs, Budgeting, balancing and accounting for monthly expenditures and administrative duties, Liaising with schools, neighbours, and social workers, and Working shifts, including cooking and light housekeeping duties during applicable shifts, and participating in the on-call rotation

Qualifications and requirements for this role:

Applicants must have a B.S.W./B.A. (psychology, social work, or related field) with experience working with children in care and knowledge of licensing regulations for children's residential settings. Minimum of three years' experience working with Level 4/5 children and youth Minimum one year of supervisory experience in a community-living setting Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability and commitment to work with high needs children and youth. Strong organizational skills are required for this position. Ability to transfer knowledge and awareness into behaviors and expectations recognized as appropriate by members of identified cultures and by people with lived experience Knowledge of behavioral management and trauma-informed strategies are assets Experience with harm reduction approaches is considered an asset Valid driver's license with access to a safe, reliable vehicle for work purposes Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite of applications including Word, Outlook, and Excel Current First Aid/CPR Understanding of person-centered approach American Sign Language (ASL) is considered an asset Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training is considered an asset

The salary range for this 1-year Term, 40 hour per week, full-time position is $22.07 - 28.69 per hour (equivalent to $45,905.60 to $59,675.20 annually) dependent upon education and/or experience.
This position is eligible for a full benefits package which includes Health and Dental Benefits, Long Term Disability Benefits, and a Pension Plan.

The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record, Child/Adult Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact checks; and must supply a current driver's abstract.
