The clinic provides family practice, urgent medical patient centered care and blood collection services by a friendly and professional staff in a convenient location that is wheelchair assessable and offers ample free parking. • Two full time physicians on staff
• A 0.5 Family Practice Nurse
• 7 day a week walk-in clinic
• Excellent front office staff, including an office manager
• Based in a community of approx. 30,000 residents
• A well stocked procedure room for minor surgeries

• Clinic owned and operated by two emergency room physicians

• Billing done by clinic staff

This clinic is seeking two full time, FFS physicians to join its team.Responsibilities

• ensure the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
• be accountable for appropriate workload and practice
• work with other providers to provide after-hours access and emergency coverage when required
• continuum of patient care with health care providers within your practice and/or community
• provide care and coordination of community-based care, secondary and tertiary level heath care
• build to capacity within the first two years
• operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority
• work in collaboration with other team members in the practice to best suit the community\'s health needs
• participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities
• utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members

Expected HoursFull-time or part-timeQualifications

• all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• all specialists must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
• membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

Community DetailsBedford is a suburban community of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was an independent town from 1980 to 1996. Bedford is on the northwestern end of Bedford Basin, an extension of the Halifax Harbour, which ends just before Nova Scotia Highway 102 and the Bedford Bypass, next to Lower Sackville. There is a popular walkway along much of the Bedford Basin waterfront that begins at DeWolfe park, and continues as the Bedford-Sackville Connector Greenway, a crushed gravel covered trail that meanders along the Sackville River. There is an outdoor 25m pool and smaller splash pool located at the Lions Park on Shore Drive, as well as two large recreational centres with year round in-door pool complexes within 10-15 minutes. Bedford is home to strong youth recreational sports, hosting the largest youth basketball tournament in Canada annually. In addition to basketball, hockey, soccer and football have strong youth organizations. In the summer there are numerous lakes suitable for swimming. The community is currently home to six ice surfaces. Bedford is a well-established sailing community, and is home to the Bedford Basin Yacht Club and Marina.
