Family Law Clerk
Mississauga Law Chambers is seeking a family Law clerk for a permanent full time position reporting to one family law lawyer. The position is available immediately. The successful candidate must be able to work individually and in a team, be capable of making decisions with good judgement, be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment and follow office protocols. There is the ability to work from home on some occasions but the vast majority of the work will be done in office.

Primary Duties Include-but not limited to:

Preparing drafting and reviewing legal documents, such as: Affidavit of Service, Financial Statements, Net Family Property Statements, Motions, Conference briefs, Confirmations, and correspondence. Prepare and maintain client files Preparing files for court Obtaining and assembling disclosure Scheduling Lawyer's meetings and other events Communications with client, opposing counsel, and third parties. Transcription of letters, memos and documents Closing files sending to storage. Emergency Reception coverage General and administrative duties as required. Photocopying/filing/binding etc.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of Family Law experience Able to prioritize, organize, and multitask Working knowledge of MS Word, DivorceMate, and PC Law or Cosmolex Able to maintain dockets updated using PC Law or Cosmolex Excellent written and oral communication skills

Salary:

Up to $80,000 - commensurate with experience and demonstrated abilities.
