Job Description
Bennett Grant LLP is a full service law firm based in Kitchener, Ontario and serving clients throughout Ontario. Over the last 60 years we have maintained our reputation as specialists in a number of areas of the law including insurance litigation, estate litigation, family and employment law.
We require a legal clerk with experience in Family Law.
Duties and Responsibilities:
File organization and maintenance of files in Divorcemate; Prepare legal documents (drafting pleadings, certificates of financial disclosure and conference briefs) from written, oral and dictated instructions and precedents; Coordinate service and filing of documents using One-key and Caselines; Prepare evidence for questioning; Review of transcripts and compliance with undertakings; Draft and prepare bills of cost and cost outlines; Assist with preparation for trial; Maintain an effective diary system.
Skills and Qualifications:
A minimum of five (5) years' experience; Proficient with the Family Law Rules; Strong computer knowledge in the following programs: Office 365, Divorcemate and LEAP; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with clients, lawyers and staff; Ability to work in a fast paced high volume environment; Must be organized, thorough and have high attention to detail; Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $52,000.00-$77,584.48 per year
