Our ideal candidate must:



have a minimum of 1-2 years' experience as a Legal Clerk/Assistant (preference will be given to applicants with experience in Family Law);

have a friendly personality and strong interpersonal skills;

have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to think critically;

demonstrate strong initiative and be able to work independently on assigned tasks and to cooperate and collaborate with other members of the office, legal professionals, and clients;

be willing to ask questions and learn new skills;

possess strong time management skills with ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines;

be able to work in a fast-paced work environment;

have a good command of English language, including spelling and grammar;

have strong organization skills and be detail oriented;

have completed a Legal Assistant or similar certificate program;

be computer literate, proficient with the Microsoft Office and quick to learn new applications.

Responsibilities would include:



administrative tasks including, answering phone calls, responding to emails, collecting information, interacting with clients and legal professionals;

scheduling meetings and appointments;

opening, maintaining and collecting documents for the legal files;

proofing drafts of letters, court documents and other legal documents;

accounting and billing related tasks.
