Job Description

Are you a dedicated and compassionate person who is looking to make a difference in the lives of children with disabilities and their families by providing family-centered support? Do you also have experience with Dungeons and Dragons or other roll playing games?

We are currently seeking an energetic individual with a passion for working with children to join our team!

Within our Journey Into the Unknown Program, children create characters to explore and experience a world where they practice life skills within the realm of adventure and peer to peer learning opportunities.

The Connect Behaviour approach is informed by multiple schools of knowledge. Attachment Theory, Neuro-sequential Model, Trauma Informed Practice, and Intersectionality inform our practice of providing coaching, strategies, and tools that enable families to build healthy and reciprocal relationships. We uphold the dignity of the child and provide them with an environment that allows for agency over their decisions while accounting for safety. Allowing for natural and logical consequences to guide learning, and building a healthy understanding of limits and relationships. We address and support the skills of the entire family with the belief that skillful and well supported families raise thriving children.

Role:



Each child and their family become part of an Instructional Team. We offer a variety of programming options including individualized and small groups, as well as opportunities for team collaboration and coaching.

Behavioural Aides work collaboratively to plan and deliver programming, working with the families in-home, in-office and online to achieve goals that allow for growth, self-determination, and agency.

Responsibilities Include:



Working with a supportive, progressive, multi-disciplinary team Deliver programming based on our roll playing game Participation in the development and delivery of Behaviour Development Support Plan (BDSs) within the Journey Into the Unknown universe Work collaboratively in our welcoming community of people-first, emotion focused professionals

Requirements:



A passion for roll playing games and child development Willingness to learn the program and help children and their families find success within it Must have reliable transportation and be willing to participate in evening and weekend shifts at our office located on the corner of 17th Ave SE and Deerfoot, as well as work with families in their homes located throughout Calgary. High school diploma or equivalent Current First Aid certification Police information with a vulnerable sector check
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour

Day shift Evening shift Every Weekend Monday to Friday Morning shift
Work Location: In person
