Duties & Responsibilities
The successful applicant can expect to be assigned courses across a range of instructional areas within the Graphics Communications diploma and must have a strong commitment to teaching and interacting with students, an ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and interest in developing and delivering quality curriculum, for an industry that's fast changing.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational background in graphic communications or print technology
: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combined education and experience) in Graphic Communications, Printing Technology, Digital Media, or a closely related field.
Hands-on industry experience with large-format printing and plotters
: Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience operating, calibrating, and maintaining large-format inkjet printers, RIP software, and finishing equipment.
Technical proficiency in inks, media, and
RIP
workflows
: Demonstrated expertise various inks; media profiling; and Raster Image Processing (RIP) systems such as Onyx Thrive.
Knowledge of advanced imaging systems and emerging technologies
: Familiarity with piezo and thermal inkjet systems, colour management, RIP capabilities, and current large-format market trends.
Teaching, training, or mentoring experience in a lab environment
: Proven ability to deliver instruction, enforce safety protocols, and engage students in hands-on learning with complex equipment.
Experience in lettering, signage, and vehicle wrap installation is an asset.
