We are currently looking for a Facility Worker to join our team of committed professionals. This full-time summer contract position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's John Island Camp location in Spanish, Ontario. Under the direction of the Facility Manager, the Facility Worker assists with cleaning of the facility areas and maintenance shop. This position is responsible for completing basic repairs, maintaining cleanliness of all camp vehicles including watercrafts when in use, and ensuring removal of garbage and recycling from the site.
START DATE: June 28, 2025
LOCATION: Spanish, ON
RATE OF PAY: $500.00 per week
Major Responsibilities
• Daily cleaning and maintenance of camp facilities including washrooms, showers, dining hall, and maintenance shop
• Complete garbage removal in a timely manner
• Responsible for safely transporting campers and camp staff to and from John Island Camp as well as all other camp transportation requirements
• Comply with transportation regulations
• Assist in other areas of camp and provide support during Family Camp
• Adhere to YMCA and John Island Camp policies, procedures and guidelines
• Other duties as assigned by the association
Qualifications
• Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) considered an asset
• Valid G class driver's license
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
• Pleasure Craft Operators License
• Experience in basic maintenance and cleaning
• Experience driving long distances on Northern highways
• Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
