Your Role as a Facility Maintenance Technician- Construction and Maintenance:



Reporting to the

Facility Maintenance Leader

, you will be a key player in ensuring our Mississauga, Etobicoke and Brantford facilities are well-maintained, safe, and operational. Your role will involve a blend of general maintenance, repair work, and minor construction/installation tasks critical to our manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):



Perform general building maintenance, including tasks such as drywall, painting, moving of furniture, plumbing, and installing variety of other things as needed. Undertake minor construction projects and renovations within the facility as needed. Safely and effectively use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to conduct and complete maintenance and construction tasks. Identify, troubleshoot, report, and collaborate on solutions for facility-related issues. Work cooperatively and safely within a structured team environment, contributing to a positive work atmosphere. Strictly adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety protocols. Ensure compliance with all company policies and legal regulations regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, and food safety. Uphold the Company's Integrated Management Systems (Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP). Participate in an on-call rotation, which may include weekends. Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance and operational needs of the facility.

Who We're Looking For (Qualifications):



Education:

Grade 12 education or equivalent experience. A trade or vocational school education in carpentry, construction, or a related maintenance field is a strong asset.

Experience:

1-3 years of hands-on experience in a facility maintenance role with exposure to construction or renovation tasks. Experience in industrial plants, warehouses, or ideally, a food and beverage manufacturing facility is highly preferred.

Skills:



Proficiency in general carpentry, minor construction techniques, and repair work. Skilled in the safe use of various hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. The ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or schematics is an asset. Familiar with general building systems maintenance. Ability to work independently and as a strong contributor within a team. Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues across all levels.

Strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and upholding GMP. Good physical condition to meet the demands of the role. Meticulous with an initiative-taking approach to problem-solving. Willingness to participate in on-call day/afternoon shifts as required.
