We invite you to see what the power of belonging can do for you, your career and your community.The Opportunity:As Facility Maintenance, you will be responsible for performing upkeep tasks and repairs for building systems and equipment and ensuring facilities are tidy and functional. The Facility Maintenance personnel is required to maintain a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, holidays, and weekends.Responsibilities:

  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance inspections.
  • Maintain work orders log, material requirements and specific scope of work required to correct any defects.
  • Monitor and adjust all energy management control systems and associated software.
  • Perform repairs and painting, as required, on walls, doors and equipment.
  • Perform plumbing duties for an emergency of maintenance as required.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and small repairs as required.
  • Inspect and maintain all exercise equipment, including cardio machines, pool equipment and associated systems, based on both a scheduled and unscheduled basis to determine the extent of repairs required.
  • Completing equipment checks to ensure proper function and safe operation.
  • Ensures that all areas are clean, safe and well organized.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including rigorous activity; grasping, writing, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods, walking, bending, stretching, repetitive motions, hearing, visual acuity, and may on occasion have to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
  • Experience operating a commercial facility.
  • Experience with maintenance and repair of fitness equipment and other small equipment.
  • Experience with painting and patching drywall.
  • Experience with Mechanical HVAC.
  • Cleaning experience in commercial establishments.
  • WHMIS training is considered an asset.
  • Certified Pool Operator certification is considered an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and willingness to learn internal systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED is considered an asset.
  • Flexibility regarding assigned work schedule, including days, evenings and weekends.
  • Employment is contingent on having a clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, along with a Social Development Check with no convictions.
