About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Facility Maintenance Lead to support our HDPE production facility in Sackville, New Brunswick. In this role, you'll take ownership of electrical, mechanical, and facility systems that keep the plant running safely, efficiently, and reliably.
You'll be the go-to person for maintaining production equipment, troubleshooting issues, coordinating facility repairs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role also includes after-hours support, with overtime paid in accordance with the Employment Standards Act of New Brunswick.
We're open to well-rounded trades professionals with strong industrial and facility maintenance experience. Compensation will be based on experience and certification.
What You'll Do
Install, troubleshoot, and repair motors, drives, control panels, PLCs, sensors, and instrumentation
Perform preventive maintenance on electrical distribution systems, lighting, and automation equipment
Ensure all work complies with CSA, ESA, and applicable electrical codes
Support control system upgrades and automation projects
Install, align, dismantle, and maintain production equipment including extruders, pumps, conveyors, and HDPE processing machinery
Perform preventive maintenance such as lubrication, adjustments, and component replacement
Diagnose mechanical issues and complete timely repairs
Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Oversee HVAC, compressed air, water treatment, and security systems
Coordinate and supervise external contractors for facility maintenance and repair work
Maintain maintenance schedules, records, and compliance documentation
Ensure the facility meets all OHS, environmental, and building code requirements
Follow and enforce safety policies, including lockout/tagout and confined space procedures
Participate in hazard assessments, incident investigations, and safety training
Stay current with occupational health and safety regulations and industry standards
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions related to downtime
Recommend and implement improvements to reduce costs and increase equipment reliability
Maintain accurate records in the CMMS system
Qualifications
Red Seal Industrial Electrician and/or Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) preferred
Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, ideally in plastics, HDPE, or chemical processing
Strong knowledge of PLCs and industrial automation
Experience with mechanical alignment, hydraulics, and pneumatics
Familiarity with facility systems such as HVAC, and building codes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Strong troubleshooting skills across multiple trades
Ability to manage contractors and juggle competing priorities
