Job Number : 51747 The Community and Recreation Facilities Branch is looking for a Crew Leader who will provide leadership to on-site labourer and maintenance staff at the Kinsmen Sports Centre.


What you will do:


• Hire, train, evaluate, and lead staff on-site that are involved in the effective and efficient operation and maintenance of the recreation centre
• Schedule labour, equipment, and materials
• Carry out work plans according to approved work standards and schedules, set priorities and meet deadlines
• Instruct, facilitate, and participate in the work of staff performing a wide variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual duties Respond to emails and messages received from facility staff, partners, team leaders, and supervisors on a daily basis
• Encourage employee consultation and participation in decision making related to day-to-day facility operations
• Follow the City's Code of Conduct and all Operational and Corporate Directives
• Address customer and stakeholder needs as related to service delivery on-site
• Prepare, assign and track requisitions, purchases, and facility resources for facility maintenance and operations through Corporate Procurement and SAP Plan, conduct, and evaluate monthly safety inspections, Enviso inspections, and annual evacuation drills
• Conduct accident investigations for staff
• Support new and ongoing projects and technologies
• Maintain an effective working relationship with the public, the section leadership team, and other City departments
Qualifications :• Completion of a diploma in a related field
• A minimum of three years experience working in facility maintenance operations


Assets:


• Completion of WHMIS is an asset


Skills required for success:


• Demonstrated supervisory skills and ability, which includes leading and assigning work to staff
• Experience working in a recreation facility setting
• Extensive knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used to complete tasks (hand tools, snowblowers, leaf blowers, pressure washers, tractors)
• Exemplary customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, time management, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution, teamwork, and prioritization skills are required
• Ability to work and make decisions independently
• Ability to communicate and deal effectively with the public, and internal and external partners Knowledge of ENVISO and safety practices and procedures

Conditions of employment:


• Standard First Aid and CPR Level C are requirements and can be completed upon hire
• Valid Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position
• Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton

Hours of work: 40 hours per week. Sunday - Thursday (may vary due to operational requirements)


Salary: $37.010 Hourly ; $77,276.880 Annually
