About the Role:





The Facility Attendant follows safe cleaning practices while delivering high-quality cleaning and general maintenance to the centre.


Shifts for the role M-Fri: 4:30pm-1am, 8:30pm-5am; Weekends: 9-4pm, 4-1am, 8:30pm-5am; On Statutory Holidays the branch is open on: 11-7:30pm


Responsibilities:




Service Delivery


Perform general maintenance duties or log requirements as assigned. Circulate and spot clean the change rooms and common areas every 30 minutes, making sure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free of debris. Ensure paper, soap, toiletries, and health beauty supplies are fully stocked. Ensure program areas and locker rooms are tidy, collect dirty towels from locker room and restock towels in plus locker room. Wash, dry, and store all laundry in respective areas. (Only at Castledowns). Communicate any supplies needed to maintain inventory as needed. Build and maintain good interpersonal staff and volunteer relationships. Answer questions and support members in need of assistance. Report to Duty Manager any inappropriate member behaviour or facility issue.

Health and Safety

Maintains a safe and supportive environment by following YMCA Health Safety Child Protection, Emergency Policies and Procedures. Ensure safe, proper use of equipment and chemicals according to safe work practices and regulatory documentation. Inspect and monitor equipment daily and complete any maintenance and cleaning checklist duties. Inform the Coordinator or Duty Manager if repairs are needed. Ensure a safe environment for all clients, staff, and volunteers.

Qualifications:




High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous cleaning and/or janitorial experience is an asset. Intermediate (Standard) First Aid & CPR-C. Able to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable sector check. Ability to use Microsoft Office and other forms of technology effectively. Flexibility required - work evenings, weekends. Works well with team in a customer service capacity. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Able to speak and write easily and accurately.
