The South Fish Creek Recreation Association (SFCRA) is a not-for-profit organization that operates Cardel Rec South--a busy, community-focused facility in Shawnessy offering ice arenas, gymnasiums, rental rooms, and a wide range of recreation programs. We're proud partners in the South Fish Creek Complex, which brings together recreation, education, and library services under one roof.

The SFCRA is seeking dynamic team player(s) to fulfill the roll of

part-time

Facility Attendant - Arena Operator:

Specific accountabilities will include:

Recreation facility equipment operations, including but not limited to the ice re-surfacer, ice edger, and a variety of power and hand tools. Building and mechanical preventative maintenance Maintain records as directed by the Operations Management Team Assist with program/meeting room set up and teardown Carry out regular janitorial duties to ensure the facility is clean and safe for guests On-shift team leadership Model a high level of service with internal and external guests
The successful candidate will show a demonstrated commitment to learning/further developing recreation facility operations, safety, possess excellent organization and time management abilities, and have a strong customer focus.

Qualifications required:

High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Class 5 Drivers License Preference will be given to those with the following: Arena or recreation facility experience and/or Arena operator certification Excellent Communication Skills Able to work independently as well as in a team environment Safety conscious Clean Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector Valid First Aid, CPR / AED and WHMIS training an asset Must lift or carry up to 10 pounds continuously, 50 pounds frequently Must be able to walk long distances on even and uneven surfaces continuously Must be able to work in a variety of climates including extreme cold and warm weather Shift Work Ability to read, write, and professionally communicate with public and co-workers.
