Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Facilities Superintendent, this position performs preventative maintenance and semi-skilled repair work at various civic sites.

Duties & Responsibilities

Performs various types of carpentry work including construction, repairs, renovations, etc., to interior and exterior of buildings and equipment. Repairs locks, and keys locks to different systems. Paints and stains, with various products, buildings, furniture and equipment. Maintains, installs, replaces and repairs various types of building components, including ceiling tiles, carpet tiles, etc. Operates a snow blower and other seasonal equipment. Performs preventive maintenance of buildings, structures, equipment, furniture etc., in accordance with predetermined maintenance schedules. Works with other staff to ensure all work meets applicable Provincial and Federal code standards. Transports materials and equipment to and from job sites. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training And Experience Requirements

Grade 12 education. Three years' current related experience in construction/maintenance work. Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence. Current driver's abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record. Possession of a valid first aid certificate.

Knowledge, Abilities And Skills

Knowledge of the safe operation and maintenance of equipment and tools. Demonstrated ability to understand and perform carpentry and masonry work. Ability to operate motorized equipment. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with the public and civic employees. Physical ability to perform the assigned duties, both indoors and outdoors. Skill in the use of power tools.

$26.79 to $29.54 CAD

per hour
