Position Details
The University of Lethbridge Caretaking Department requires the services of a qualified full-time continuing Facilities Operation 4 to commence work in February.
The successful candidate will be responsible for removing all waste/recycling and using multiple lifts at various heights on campus. This position is also responsible for deliveries of supplies and equipment for the Caretaking department. The successful applicant would also be available for some pest control and janitorial work (i.e. floor scrubbing, carpet cleaning, floor refinishing, and general cleaning); assisting with the completion of minor maintenance projects, filter changes, event setups, operating cleaning equipment (i.e. forklift, polishers, auto scrubbers, burnishers, and other cleaning equipment); adhering to standard operating procedures and safe work practices.
Position Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma and at least 12 months of related work experience. In addition, the candidate will possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.
We are looking for high energy individuals who can demonstrate the following skills and abilities:Effective English reading, verbal and written communication skills at the appropriate level for the position
Reliable, positive, and detail oriented with excellent time management skills, safety conscious
Delivery experience, use of vehicle lifts, and forklift operation would be an asset
TMA, Word, and Excel knowledge
Experience with heavy duty cleaning equipment; current WHMIS certification is an asset
Ability to perform physically demanding work (i.e. including bending, twisting, climbing stairs, pushing, and pulling, regular lifting of 25 kg and occasional lifting of 50 kg) in a safe and efficient manner
A proven ability to maintain effective working relationships and provide quality customer service
Standard first aid and CPR certification is desired
Some experience with supervising would be considered an asset
The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$3,149.00 - $3,476.00 monthly
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$3,149.00 - $3,803.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 4)
