Position Details
The Supply Chain Operations (Department within Financial Services) invites qualified applicants to apply for the full-time continuing Assistant Shipper/Receiver Position.
Reporting to the Manager of Supply Chain Operations, the Assistant Shipper/Receiver supports the Shipper/Receiver with the day-to-day operations of the warehousing and distribution of goods across the University campus while representing the University in a professional manner both on and off campus.
Responsibilities:
As the Assistant Shipper/Receiver, this person will be responsible but not limited to the following:Assist in preparing shipping documentation, which may include bills of lading, customs forms, and other necessary paperwork
Receive, inspect, document incoming shipments and enter data into the computer and validate against purchase orders
Load and unload vans manually or using equipment such as forklift, pallet trucks (manual and electric).
Day to day clerical duties may include but not limited to filing documents, scanning and completing incident reports
Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records
Ensure all shipments comply with safety and quality standards.
Coordinate with carriers and freight companies to schedule pickups and deliveries as required
Keep the shipping and receiving area clean, organized, and safe
Communicate effectively with Supply Chain Operation team members regarding shipment statuses and issues
Ensure all University Safety Policies and protocols are being adhered to on and off campus
Assisting with disposal of surplus goods/assets
As well as any other duties that are considered relevant to the position, such as
+ Distribute all mail and freight to locations across campus
+ Off Campus Pick up and deliveries
Position Qualifications
The
successful candidate must
have a High School Diploma and:Previous experience in shipping/receiving, warehousing, or material handling is an asset or of similar position (2-5 years). Related post-secondary education would be considered an asset
A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver's License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.
Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, shipping/receiving systems)
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform duties requiring walking long distances, standing, bending, and carrying.
Forklift certification, TDG, WHMIS Training is an asset however training will be provided if necessary.

This position works a 7-hour workday with minimal overtime requirements. This position is classified under the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE).

$3,264.00 - $3,618.00 monthly
