Azhadi Vineyards is seeking an experienced, hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational integrity of all winery buildings, grounds, and systems. This role ensures that our property including the restaurant, tasting room, production areas, and event spaces operates at the highest level of functionality, safety, and presentation. The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable managing both day-to-day maintenance and long-term infrastructure planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Operations & Maintenance
Oversee the maintenance and repair of all winery buildings, mechanical systems, and equipment (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, etc.).
Conduct regular inspections to ensure optimal function, cleanliness, and safety across the property.
Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Property & Grounds Management
Ensure landscaping, parking areas, and janitorial outdoor/indoor spaces are well-maintained and visually aligned with Azhadi's premium brand.
Coordinate seasonal property needs such as snow removal, irrigation, lighting, and pest control.
Safety & Compliance
Maintain compliance with building codes, fire regulations, health & safety standards, and environmental policies.
Oversee security systems and coordinate with vendors for system testing and monitoring.
Lead emergency preparedness and safety procedures for the facility, including fire drills and first-aid readiness.
Vendor & Contractor Management
Liaise with contractors, service providers, and inspectors for repairs, upgrades, and installations.
Review and negotiate service agreements, track work orders, and ensure quality of completed work.
Capital Planning & Budgeting
Assist in planning and execution of capital improvement projects (e.g., renovations, utility upgrades).
Monitor facilities budget, control costs, and recommend efficiency improvements or lifecycle investments.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in facility, maintenance, or property management; experience in hospitality, winery, or food production environments preferred.
Strong working knowledge of building systems, maintenance protocols, and OH&S standards.
Ability to troubleshoot and perform light repairs across multiple trades (e.g., carpentry, mechanical, basic electrical, plumbing).
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Strong communication and vendor coordination skills.
Comfortable using digital maintenance systems, checklists, and task-tracking tools.
Valid driver's license required; relevant certifications (e.g., WHMIS, Building Operator, First Aid) are assets.

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
