We are currently hiring for a Facilities Maintenance Technician in the Brampton area

$21.00/hr

:

• Sweep and wash fabrication washroom floors in the day as required
• Sweep and wash fabrication warehouse floors with industrial floor cleaning machine
• Empty all garbage containers and replenish all facility dispensers including paper towel, soap, hand sanitizer, lens tissue, and lens cleaner as required
• Wipe/sanitize all touch points throughout the facility. This includes but is not limited to light switches, railings, doors and door handles.
• Ensure cleanliness of washrooms. This includes wipe/sanitize countertop surfaces, chrome surfaces, and empty garbage containers
• Ensure cleanliness of lunchroom. This includes wipe/sanitize countertop surfaces, chrome surfaces, and kitchen tables, and empty garbage containers.
• Ensure cleanliness of meeting room and meeting room white board as needed
• Stock all janitors\' rooms with supplies to support that floors/depts requirements (i.e. toilet tissue, paper towel, garbage bags, etc.
• Dispose of cardboard, garbage, wood and recyclables in designated vendor collection bins. This includes collecting cardboard, garbage, wood and recyclables throughout the warehouse/production area and arranging for bin pick up if required
• Keep exterior walkways and entrance doors shoveled and salted during winter months
• Keep interior entrance ways and hallways clean during day shift as required, and may require washing
• Pick up garbage and debris around parking lots and exterior of buildings
• Monthly fire extinguisher inspections
• Replace light bulbs as needed
• Supply Facilities Manager a requisition to replenish janitorial supplies
• Liaise between service vendors and Facilities Manager and/or Facilities Administrator
• Pick up urgent part/product production orders (only with valid Ontario driver\'s license)
• Pick up products/food for company events (only with valid Ontario driver\'s license)
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, such as painting, etc.
• Back up support for Facilities Maintenance Team as required

EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:

• Minimum Grade 12 Education
• Experience operating an industrial floor cleaning machine an asset
• Experience driving a forklift
• Valid Ontario Driver\'s License an asset
• 2-5 years related experience in manufacturing/warehouse environment required
• Experience with general building maintenance an asset
• Ability to work independently, and recognize areas that need to be cleaned, sorted, and organized
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flex from one task to another quickly
• Ability to deal with people sensitively, respectfully, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
• Customer service oriented
