Facilities Engineering Student (4 months) - Electrical/Instrumentation - (2211725)

The Opportunity:
As an engineering student working on our Facilities Electrical Instrumentation and Controls team, you will gain experience in the design, construction, modification, operation and optimization of oil & gas facilities. You will gain exposure to different types of facilities and electrical, instrumentation and controls designs used in Canadian Natural’s Western Canada business.   • Apply electrical, instrumentation and/or controls engineering principles to develop solutions for the conventional or thermal oil and gas business units
  • Work with various teams on reliability focused improvements and initiatives through the application of Lean Six Sigma principles
Other Details:
  • Term length: 4 months (possibility for extension to 8, 12, or 16 months)
  • Term start: May 2023
  • Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office
  • Work schedule: 5 x 2, 8 HR
  • Students will be responsible for finding their own accommodations during the work term. Note, candidates may be eligible for relocation pursuant to Canadian Natural’s Student Relocation Policy.
  • This is a safety sensitive position
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of an engineering degree or technologist program. Electrical, Computer, Instrumentation or Controls disciplines preferred.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license or equivalent out of province license
  • Motivated, problem solver, collaborative, organized, and able to manage competing priorities
