Job Description

Industrial Plastics & Paints is hiring a

full-time

Plastic Fabricator to cut, drill, bend and polish various plastic parts from sheet-stock, at our Kelowna store's shop.

The ideal candidate has great communication skills, experience with woodworking and hand-tools, and is looking to learn and train professional plastic and acrylic fabrication techniques.

Our most successful employees enjoy problem solving and are makers themselves with personal experience using the type of products we stock and sell.

We are eager to help you learn and train on the specifics of our products, if you are able to think quickly on your feet and are flexible to a wide range of retail job demands.

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

Enjoy working with the public Genuinely care about providing our customers with technical assistance in selecting the best product solution. Have a professional, direct and courteous style Take initiative and work well as part of a team Work safely with at all times with shop equipment. Be respectful, direct and make decisions in the best interest of the customer. Available for full-time hours,

Monday - Friday from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

. Saturday availability preferred.

Capabilities:



Sit-Down Forklift certification required (Must be Current) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. Safely operate woodwork hand-tools, table-saw, router, drill press and similar equipment. Ask detailed application questions from customers to provide technical guidance and advice about product solutions for their project needs. Read and interpret blueprints and drawings. Create detailed hand-sketches with dimensions from customers' verbal instructions. Package, Box, Label and Ship products for customer order fulfillment. Interact with Shipping and Freight companies to receive and send warehouse shipments once produced.

Train & Learn on the following areas

:

Operation of hand fabrication tools for use shaping and bending plastics. Identify and work with Industrial Plastics. Polish, Bend and Shape clear acrylic for use in retail displays, decorative features, and commercial products. Ability to work with and collaborate with our team and our customers.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
