Position Title:

Manufacturing Specialist (Assembler Fabricator)

Position Status:

Permanent, Full Time, Day shift (8am to 4:30pm) Monday to Friday 40 hours per week, with the possibility of a few extended hours as necessary for peak times.

About the Position:

The Manufacturing Specialist (Assembler Fabricator) position is an important core production position with a primary responsibility for Assembly and packaging of products (skidded and boxed) for stock and orders. Because of the breadth of Bluestreak's product line this position will take a long time to learn and master and therefore Bluestreak is looking for a long term committed team member to fill the role. To accomplish assembly and packaging, the person in this position generally starts by performing a variety of activities which can include cutting, drilling, bending, small punch press operation, etc to fabricate some components, those components are then combined with either welded/painted steel components or welded aluminum components to assemble and then package a product per assembly / fabrication and packaging manuals. This position does not generally involve welding, but in this smaller production environment you may have the opportunity to weld if you are a welder, or to learn welding if you are not currently a welder. This position will work with the Production manager and other production staff to ensure continuous improvement in production processes.

About the Work Environment:

The successful applicant will be working with a close-knit small group of individuals that functions as a cooperative team with a focus on quality and meeting production orders to fulfill customer orders and stocking requirements. The work is highly diverse and varied. It will require your mind, focus, attention to detail and the ability to read and follow assembly fabrication manuals. The main production area where most work is performed is temperature-controlled year-round (heated and cooled). Noise levels most of the time allow for comfortable conversation.

Manufacturing Specialist (Assembler Fabricator) responsibilities:



1. Operate light machinery, including saws, punch presses, grinders, drill presses and hand tools and various other pieces of machinery/equipment.

2. Manufacture standard products as per product assembly/fabrication and packaging manuals and diagrams. Every item has a Product assembly/fabrication and packaging manual and those manuals are available on monitors in the production area in various work centers as step by step instructions. The number of products are varied and fairly extensive and you will need to use these manuals.

3. Monitor the quality of both fabrication and the final product. The step-by-step instructions in the manuals include steps to ensure and or check the quality of various components and their assembly and it's essential the Assembler Fabricator has attention to detail to follow these instructions.

4. Operate forklift and overhead cranes.

5. Perform Basic Equipment Maintenance.

6. Provide input towards continuous improvement.

General Skill and Personal Requirements:



1. High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

2. Knowledge of Measurements (imperial and metric)

3. High level of Manufacturing/Fabrication skills and experience.

4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

5. Ability to read, interpret and understand assembly/fabrication manuals.

6. Ability to work independently and in a small team environment.

7. Ability to identify and resolve problems.

8. Willing and able to do a variety of different tasks that require attention to detail, manual dexterity, lifting, standing for extended periods, and repetitive tasks in some instances.

9. Knowledge of safe lifting and handling techniques
