Consequently, we are looking for a full-time Fabrication Estimator who would like to join our team. Usual office hours required with overtime and flexibility needed on occasion to ensure adequate front-end coverage into afternoon shift hours. This position can reside in Windsor or Cambridge, Ontario.

The successful candidate will evaluate customer RFQ packages, prepare timely quotes, follow-up and aid in any customer inquiries.

Duties and Responsibilities



Procure and control estimates, engineering drawings, specifications and records as assigned Reviewing customer drawings and specs to develop accurate time estimates for processes and material take-offs Manipulate drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks as required Quoting and processing of fabrications Quoting machined plate, die sets and components may be required Obtain quotations from suppliers of raw materials and outside services Preparing shop process instructions using Fab Master, Micro Estimating and Profit Key Process and follow up on customer RFQ(s) / orders Provide assistance and support in resolving customer conflicts and or concerns. Communicate via phone, email and face to face in a respectful and professional manner Liaising with customers, vendors, purchasing, engineering, outside sales, production and quality team members to ensure job costing, timing, manufacturing accuracy and customer satisfaction Maintaining Customer Profiles Other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications



Diploma/Degree or a minimum of 3 years' relevant manufacturing/fabrication experience in the related field including familiarity with manufacturing processes (welding, sawing, assembly, machine operation) Must be able to read, write legibly, speak and understand English and to document stipulated records as instructed. Basic computer skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office - outlook, word and excel Knowledge of shop processes, weld symbols and geometric tolerancing. Previous sales & estimating experience would be considered an asset Proficient in reading and interpreting 2D/3D drawings, BOMs and model files. Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software; ability to create, edit and manipulate 2D & 3D models/drawings Epicor, Micro Estimating, Profit Key, AutoCAD & SolidWorks skills are an advantage Knowledge of Manufacturing processes would be considered an asset Strong Communication/interpersonal skills (verbal & written) Excellent problem-solving skills Must be a team player who is willing to take initiative and is able to work independently and or with others in a close environment Must possess time management and strong organizational skills Good attendance and punctuality is a must
