Job Description

Scovan is a leading fabrication company located in Ponoka, Alberta where we supply industrial energy systems to established customers. We are currently recruiting an experienced Electrical Estimator/ purchaser to join our team.

Qualifications

Experience 5+ years of electrical industrial estimation and/ or purchasing. Relevant education (University Degree, College Diploma, Trade Certificate) or equivalent experience (5+ years as an industrial electrical/instrumentation journeyman or supervisor) Experience estimating hours and material costs for E&I work Skills and Knowledge Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel. Familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code Ability to read construction drawings (single lines, cable schedules, layouts, wiring diagrams, etc.) Hands-on experience installing electrical equipment, cables, raceways, lighting, heat trace, grounding, fiber optics and high voltage. Familiar with Oil/Gas projects relating to structural steel, module assembly, piping fabrication and installation, setting equipment, controls, substations, field wiring for power, instrumentation, and controls. Experience in estimating Instrumentation scopes of work Proficient with Bluebeam Revu, Navisworks or equivalent. Experience with material procurement, reviewing project contracts The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as a team, have excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities:

Reports to E&I superintendent. Create project proposals including reviewing project scope of work, drawings, specs, standards, and other documents. Performing electrical takeoff of drawings and bills of material. Requesting quotes from various suppliers and thoroughly analyzing their proposals, in order to achieve project goals within the allotted budget and timeframe.

Pay: $34.85-$41.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
