This position is on-site in Grand Falls, New Brunswick.
Description of the Position:
An Extrusion Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of extrusion machinery and associated processes to manufacture plastic products. They will monitor and adjust the machine to ensure product quality and output is achieved, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues that arise and record production data. Extrusion Operators must also ensure that all safety procedures are adhered to and that the working environment is kept clean and tidy. They must also maintain accurate records, such as production logs, and carry out preventative maintenance activities.
Duties & responsibilities,
Operate and monitor extrusion machines to produce ptfe products of the required shape, size, and color.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine the set-up of the machine and the required raw materials.
Select and install dies and other attachments on the extrusion machine.
Adjust machine settings to control speed, temperature, and pressure during the extrusion process.
Start up the extrusion machine and observe the flow of raw materials to ensure that it meets the required specifications.
Monitor the progress of the extrusion process and make necessary adjustments to ensure that the finished product meets the required quality standards.
Conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of the extrusion machine and its attachments.
Keep accurate records of production output and machine settings.
Report any problems with the machine or the extrusion process to the supervisor.
Adhere to safety regulations while operating the machine and handling raw materials.
Train new operators on the use of the extrusion machine
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the extrusion process.
12 hours shift 4 on / 4 off. (6 to 6)
Qualifications/Experience:
Must be able to lift 60 lbs (30 Kg).
Must be able to lift/carry up to 60 lbs. periodically throughout the day
Must be able to perform frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, and squatting.
PC proficiency is helpful.
