Once in the company, several opportunities will be available based on the seniority and the success of the probationary periods and, of course, the interest of the person towards our different departments. Will you be the next operator in extrusion, slitting, press, lamination or any other service in the plant?
The duties of an Extrusion Apprentice are as follows:
Respect the safety rules and food quality policies
Bring resin from the warehouse to the machines
Start, adjust and optimize extrusion lines
Participate in quality control using control measures and other related tests
Finalize the product and prepare for shipment in the warehouse or press department
Any other relates tasks
Apply the various safety rules
Vacant positions are distributed by seniority. A new employee will start on the night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m, on a continental schedule (alternating between 36 hours and 48 hours per week).
The starting hourly rate offered is $29.41 in addition to a night shift premium of $1.35. Increases will be given after 6 months reaching the maximum hourly rate of $30.20.
After 3 months of continuous service, employees become unionized and will have access to the following:
Group insurances (dental and medical) paid at 90% by the employer.
Life insurance; accident, death and dismemberment; short term and long-term disability; and dependent life insurance all paid 100% by the employee.
Work uniform and safety equipment (glasses and shoes) paid by the employer.
After 1 year of continuous service:
Group RRSP : the employer contributes 4% of the employee's total earnings if the employee contributes 1% of his earnings.
