Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our warehouse operations. This position involves various tasks related to the handling of materials, equipment operation, and ensuring that all yard activities run smoothly. The Yard Worker will be responsible for loading and unloading materials, operating heavy equipment, and supporting shipping and receiving processes.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts to move materials safely within the yard. Load and unload shipments accurately while adhering to safety protocols. Assist in order picking and packing for outgoing shipments. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard and warehouse areas. Perform heavy lifting as required to handle materials effectively. Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory and manage orders efficiently. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks. Follow all safety guidelines while operating heavy equipment and handling materials.

Skills

Previous experience in yard/warehouse distribution is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues when necessary. Familiarity with order picking processes and shipping & receiving operations. Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly throughout the shift. Knowledge of warehouse management systems is a plus. Basic knowledge of wood/building materials is an asset. Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety and efficiency in all operations. Pay: $16.42-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
