Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, consistency, and flair, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards
Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish execution and ingredient selection to enhance flavor profiles and presentation
Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness throughout the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations
Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, portioning, and plating to ensure efficiency during service
Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives, stoves, ovens, fryers, and other culinary tools
Support catering events and special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely delivery of orders to the dining area
Qualifications
Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or food service environment
Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques including grilling, sauteing, roasting, and baking
Background in fine dining or upscale restaurant settings is highly desirable
Knowledge of dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus for accommodating special dietary needs
Demonstrated ability in menu planning, meal preparation, and food handling practices that prioritize safety and quality
Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Culinary experience with catering services or large-scale food production is advantageous
