Level 3 Early Childhood Educator

to join our West Hillhurst campus team, working primarily with our students ages 3-5.

About the Role

As a Lead Educator, you will play a key role in guiding our Pre-K students through their most exciting stage of discovery--building independence, fostering creativity, and preparing them for the next chapter of their learning journey. This role requires a balance of professionalism, warmth, and expertise, with a deep commitment to The Blum Way of nurturing curiosity and lifelong learning.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement daily programming that reflects Montessori and Reggio philosophies while aligning with Flight: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework. Support Pre-K students in building independence, collaboration, and critical thinking through meaningful, play-based and inquiry-driven experiences. Create a calm, welcoming, and aesthetically intentional classroom environment that reflects respect for the child and beauty in learning. Observe, document, and share each child's learning journey through thoughtfully written Learning Stories. Collaborate with fellow Educators, families, and leadership to ensure a strong and supportive partnership in each child's care and education. Model professionalism and mentorship within the team, offering guidance and support to colleagues when needed. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment while following licensing and accreditation standards.
Qualifications

Alberta Child Care Certification:

Level 3 (Early Childhood Educator)

required. Minimum

2-3 years experience

working in licensed childcare, preferably in a Pre-K environment. Strong knowledge of child development and experience supporting independence, self-regulation, and problem-solving skills in young children. Familiarity with Montessori or Reggio-inspired practices (experience in either is considered a strong asset). Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Current First Aid/CPR, Police Clearance, and Child Intervention Check required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.50-$19.50 per hour
