Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Drafter for drafting contract work. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and schematics for various interior design, new build plans and building permit application projects.

The work is primarily in Vancouver, on a per project basis. The work is not based in our office, though the candidate needs to be able to meet from time to time in person in downtown Vancouver.

Duties

Draft plans per the design guidance of our lead designers design concepts and details. Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings using REVIT software and Enscape and other rendering tools. Create schematics, technical drawings, building permit applications and construction documents aligned with project requirements. All floor plan drafting. Elevations drafting. Sections drafting and assembly details. Complete building permit application drawing sets (residential and commercial). New home and home-additions building permit drawing sets. Millwork drawings sets. Electrical plans. Plumbing plans. Site plans. 3D models and renderings of exteriors and interiors. Collaborate with engineers as required. Review and revise drawings based on feedback to ensure precision and compliance with industry standards. Assist in the development of 3D animation visuals for project presentations when required. Maintain organized digital files of all drawings and schematics for easy access and version control. Ensure all drafting work adheres to safety, quality, and regulatory standards within the construction and engineering sectors.

Requirements

Several years of direct experience is required. Fluent with REVIT software - An absolute must! Sorry no AutoCAD, only REVIT. Proven track record of drafting complete building permit application packages for new builds. Proven track record of elaborate 3D model presentations. Proven track record of elaborate complete drawings sets, including among others: millwork, electrical, plumbing, reflected ceiling, finishings, elevations, sections, exteriors, site plans. Knowledge of BC building codes. Preference for those with knowledge of Vancouver Cities building requirements. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
Portfolio of past work is a must
