Position Summary:


Mother Earth Childcare Centre is seeking a passionate, experienced

Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE)

to take on a

Lead Teacher

role. The ideal candidate is a patient, nurturing, creative, and dedicated professional who can take the lead of our classroom team and lead curriculum planning in alignment with the How Does Learning Happen? framework and our blended Waldorf/Montessori/Reggio philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:



Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, curriculum for children with a Waldorf and Montessori focus Lead and mentor a team of assistants in daily routines, documentation, and classroom management/organization. Build responsive relationships with children, families, and staff. Ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. Maintain clear, organized, and timely documentation and child files Communicate regularly with families regarding their child's progress and development. Lead the team and resolve internal team issues Ensure compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), health and safety regulations, and centre policies. Collaborate with centre leadership to support program goals and continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications:



Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE). Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in licensed childcare, in a leadership role. Demonstrated knowledge of How Does Learning Happen?*, ELECT, and child development best practices.
Knowledge of programming and implementing activities, including those of Waldorf, Reggio or Montessori origin. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. First Aid and CPR-C certification (current) Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months) Up-to-date immunization and TB screening (as required by local health authorities).

ONLY RECEs CURRENTLY REGISTERED WITH THE COLLEGE OF ECE ONTARIO, WITH AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF EXEPREINCE WILL BE CONSIDERED.
