For approximately six (6) months


Hours per week and Schedule of Work (Hours and Schedule of work are subject to change in accordance with Article 19):




17.5 hours per week. Schedule to be determined. Shifts will be on-site and during core operational hours.


JOB SUMMARY:



Under the supervision of the designated supervisor, designs and installs exhibitions in the Library Gallery and all other exhibit space in the Library; performs related duties as assigned.


DUTIES:




designs and fabricates library-initiated exhibits works with Library staff and external exhibit resource people to research and develop exhibits for in house and external spaces assembles, installs and dismantles Library exhibits responsible for cleanup and maintenance of Exhibits work area assists in planning exhibition schedule and budget maintains and repairs display hardware responsible for maintenance and operation of signage and other equipment orders and stores supplies as required photographs exhibits as a visual record of exhibition program maintains Exhibits files

QUALIFICATIONS:




Graduate of an art college or recognized school of design or equivalent with specialization in environmental design. Portfolio required. Two years' experience in exhibitions design, including experience in graphic design. Understanding and appreciation of the philosophy of public service to all, in accordance with human rights legislation and the principles of equity and access in the delivery of library service. Ability to perform tasks with accuracy and attention to detail. Organizational ability, effective communication skills, and the ability to work to deadlines essential. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
