Job Summary:
To assist in providing various support functions related to confidential corporate security matters
Major Responsibilities:
Assists with various corporate security office functions and assignments (such as, audits and assessments, preparing incidents reports, and submits deficiencies for correction).
Exercises caution and discretion with corporate security assessments, research investigations and other confidential information.
Collects and assists in research and compiling data of confidential nature related to corporate security and investigations for others to analyze and/or assists in the analysis. Documents findings.
Inputs/retrieves/updates/maintains data. Assists in organizing and presenting data.
Assists with calculations, incident statistics, and risk forecasting.
Assists in preparation, research and processing of documents of confidential security matters/data/findings, (such as reviewing video surveillance equipment to ensure optimal coverage and correct programming).
Assists in the preparation of security risk assessment reports, including divisional security plans. Assists in verifying functionality and performance of security systems/equipment as needed (such as assisting with testing of equipment and records, and maintains, including following-up on various service requests, such as work orders for various systems with City staff and external contractors).
Responds to requests and provides information or directs inquiries to appropriate security staff. May travel to various locations.
Mainly works during the daytime Monday - Friday. However may at times be required to work during the weekend or nights.
Key Qualifications: * Enrolled in a post-secondary program in the field of security and law enforcement.
Experience with computers and various software, including but not limited to MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
You Must Also Have:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with staff and clients in an efficient and diplomatic manner.
Excellent organizational and problem solving skills. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
Ability to provide excellent customer service when dealing with the public. Ability to work shifts as assigned, including weekends and evenings.
Please Note: It is a condition of employment with the Corporate Real Estate Management Division to pass and maintain a Police Security clearance.
