The Aspira Retirement brand stands as a pillar of community, offering choice and personalization in senior living. We are more than just housing; we are about enabling our residents to thrive. We are looking for an Executive Vice President (EVP) to lead the Aspira Retirement Living Division. This role is central to our vision of becoming Canada\xe2\x80\x99s most trusted and most loved senior living provider. It entails strategic oversight and operational leadership of 48 retirement residences, covering a wide array of retirement living services across Canada. The selected candidate will lead and inspire a dedicated workforce of over 4,000 professionals, committed to excellence in senior living. With revenues that exceeded $175.0 million in 2022 and are on a path of continued growth, this role requires a skilled leader to navigate the expanding landscape of Aspira Retirement Living

What you will do:

  • Champion the development and articulation of a compelling vision for the Aspira Retirement portfolio, ensuring alignment with Sienna\xe2\x80\x99s overarching strategic objectives. Focus on innovation in sales, marketing and operational excellence to enhance occupancy and financial performance. Regularly present strategic plans, progress updates, and financial performance to the CEO and the Board of Directors, ensuring transparency and alignment with corporate governance expectations
  • As a key senior executive leader, influencing and integrating efforts across sales, marketing, operations, and other essential functions. Facilitate cross-departmental strategies and initiatives that promote Aspira\xe2\x80\x99s growth and operational efficiencies, extending influence beyond direct reports
  • Provide executive oversight for the development and execution of the retirement division\xe2\x80\x99s annual business plan, financial targets, and capital budgets. Ensure these efforts are in alignment with the company\xe2\x80\x99s strategic goals and operational efficiency
  • Lead the achievement of occupancy and financial performance targets through the implementation of innovative sales and marketing strategies and operational improvements. Ensure operations of each residence are within approved budgets and meet or exceed net operating income (NOI) goals
  • Elevate Aspira\xe2\x80\x99s brand by enhancing market presence, resident satisfaction, and the overall experience
  • Partner with the development team and external stakeholders to influence the design and operational standards of retirement residences, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of seniors, market demand and organizational objectives
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high performing leadership team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Ensure the team\xe2\x80\x99s action are consistent with the company\xe2\x80\x99s purpose, vision and values
  • Create an environment where the Retirement leadership team members are held accountable and empowered, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and providing the necessary resources and support to achieve these goals
  • Engage and build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including residents, families, community leaders, and industry partners, to enhance the reputation and impact of Aspira
  • Act as a primary spokesperson and advocate for Aspira, focusing on the needs of seniors and highlighting the Retirement division\xe2\x80\x99s contribution to the community and industry
Who you are:
  • Possess a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business or a related discipline. A Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree, particularly an MBA, is preferred, to develop and execute strategies that drive the organization toward its operational and financial objectives
  • With 15 years of extensive senior leadership experience and at least 5 years in a C-suite position, the ideal candidate will have a robust background in managing multi-site operations across national or global organizations. They should possess significant expertise in overseeing multi-site operations with industries such as senior living, retail, hotels, or restaurants, demonstrating a proven track record of fostering growth, achieving operational excellence, and enhancing financial performance
  • Able to envision the future of retirement living and lead toward that future with determination and enthusiasm. This requires experience in leading large teams, demonstrating a strong ability to develop high-performing leaders, and fostering a culture of performance and innovation
  • Possess excellent communications and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the organization to external stakeholders effectively, including investors, boards and industry
  • Are resilient to navigate challenges and obstacles, in a proactive approach to problem-solving by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
