We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a key member of our restaurant management team, the Sous Chef will assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, safety, and efficiency. Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow
Supervise and coordinate food preparation and cooking activities to maintain high standards of quality and presentation
Oversee food handling practices to ensure compliance with food safety regulations
Lead and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a cohesive team environment
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to ensure consistent availability of ingredients
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in accordance with health and safety standards
Participate in menu planning, recipe development, and plating to enhance guest experience
Serve as a role model in hospitality, demonstrating professionalism in all interactions with staff and guests
To ensure daily communication with the restaurant manager
To control food cost through careful purchasing, portion control and supervision of wastage
Be aware of new trends and present new ideas for product enhancement
To control the maintenance of all kitchen equipments, liaising closely with contractors
Experience
To have experience in international and Asian cuisine
Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or food service environment
Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Prior restaurant management experience preferred at least 5 years
Knowledge of food safety protocols and best practices in the food industry
Experience working in hospitality settings with a focus on customer service excellence
Familiarity with kitchen equipment, menu development, and serving standards
Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
