About the Opportunity


As a member of the Medical Affairs portfolio, the Executive Leadership Coach works collaboratively with Physician Leaders at all levels of the organization to ensure a coordinated approach to meeting their individual and team leadership development goals. A valuable intervention for change and transition, the Executive Leadership Coach is considered a subject matter expert in supporting front line physicians moving into formal leadership roles with greater accountability.
The Executive Leadership Coach designs and delivers customized leadership programs aligned with the LEADS in a Caring Environment leadership capabilities framework. They provide tools, support and structure for leaders to implement their learning and development for more focused results. The Executive Leadership Coach reinforces learning and integrates leadership concepts through one to one and group coaching. They \xe2\x80\x9cuse an experiential and individualized process that builds a leader\xe2\x80\x99s capability to achieve short- and long-term organizational goals. It is conducted through one-on-one and/or group interactions, driven by data from multiple perspectives, and based on mutual trust and respect. The organization, a leader, and the executive coach work in partnership to achieve maximum impact\xe2\x80\x9d. (Adapted from the Executive Coaching Forum). Primary outcomes of the Executive Leadership Coach include coaching and consulting, physician leadership development, team development, improved engagement and retention, career development and succession planning. The Executive Leadership Coach will build strong relationships within the physician community and key staff across the organization and with appropriate external groups and stakeholders.


About You


We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in relevant discipline (e.g.Human Resource Management, Adult Education, Organizational development), or a combination of education, and experience
  • Relevant certifications and training in Professional Coaching through an accredited body of the International Coach Federation (ICF)
  • Certifications in various psychological assessment methodologies: eg. MBTI, Thomas Killman Conflict Inventory, Emotional Intelligence, Strengths Finder, etc
  • Member in good standing with the ICF
  • 5-7 years progressive management experience in a health care environment with understanding of health care culture
  • Minimum 5 years of experience coaching leaders and executives
  • Experience working in the Human Resources, Adult Education or Organizational Development fields is required
  • Strong leadership development and training background is required
  • Superior interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills. Demonstrates high level of trust, confidentiality, integrity, and leadership presence
  • Adhere to professional guidelines and competencies (Code of Ethics and Core Competencies with ICF), especially in the areas of confidentiality, conflict of interest, and expertise
  • Demonstrated understanding of organizational structures, systems, processes, and how to assess all of these elements of the organization in which the coachee works
  • Demonstrated understanding of evolving trends in the practice of coaching. A strong understanding of individual differences in a workplace as well as the ability to adapt coaching style or strategies
  • Demonstrates a sense of comfort around senior leaders. Thinks independently; considers options or perspectives that may go against prevailing views. Shows empathy with others and is sensitive to how their own style impacts others or fits with the needs of others
  • Demonstrates an interest in people; shows curiosity about the lives, goals, experiences, and perspectives of others
  • Active listening techniques (e.g., maintaining full attention, periodically summarizing, being non-judgmental) to reflect and acknowledge the other person\xe2\x80\x99s feelings and concerns
  • Demonstrates comfort with a very high level of ambiguity
  • Individual and leadership assessment, adult learning principles, leadership development programs and processes, models of leadership, conflict management
  • Organizational systems and development, organizational change management theories and practices, organizational assessment and diagnosis, organizational design and development principles and practices
  • Understanding of the impact and role of organizational cultures and subcultures, phases of team development, nature and role of organizational politics, power and influence
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Incentives


$37.66 - $47.07 Hourly
