Job Description

NeighbourLink Parkland is a Christian Resource Network serving the Greater Parkland region for the past 25 years. We are dedicated to addressing the immediate needs of our neighbours with generosity, dignity, and compassion. Through partnerships with community agencies and referral sources, we provide guidance, resources, and advocacy to empower and equip vulnerable and marginalized individuals in our community.

The Executive Director is responsible to the NeighbourLink Parkland Board of Directors for the effective planning, implementation, and directing of the programs of NeighbourLink Parkland in our Stony Plain, AB office.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:



Administration:



- Ensuring the daily operations of the organization are delivered in an effective and efficient manner in accordance with the approved annual budget.

- Address and recommend improvements to operational systems and processes and developing office policies and procedures.

- Ensuring that the administrative and technology systems in the office function efficiently.

- Recruiting, onboarding, training, supervision, and evaluation of staff and volunteers.

- Promote a positive work environment, while assigning staff responsibilities and providing performance evaluations.

Financial:



- Preparing and submitting financial grant applications and related grant reporting.

- Ensuring that accurate and secure client and financial records are maintained.

- Oversight of daily financial operations and assisting the Treasurer to develop the annual budget.

- Organizing fundraising activities.

Client and Program Services:



- Overseeing Client support programs and staff, acting as a point of contact for client inquiries.

- Assess client needs and develop a service plan to meet identified needs, providing professional insight into complex situations.

- Develop professional relationships and collaboration with other community agencies to address needs and possible solutions.

- Arranging for volunteers to assist in the delivery of programs, providing relevant training to both staff and volunteers.

- Managing the "Keep in Touch" program.

- Managing the donor and volunteer appreciation / recognition programs.

- Representing NeighbourLink Parkland at public events and meetings.

- Manage communications, including social media content, promotion, and presentations.

Board Liaison:



- Work with the NeighbourLink Parkland Board to develop and update the organization's Mission and strategic operational strategy, as required.

- Develop and issue monthly and annual reports to the Board and member Churches pertaining to organizational performance, challenges, and opportunities.

- Communicating with NLP Board members and Church liaison representatives.

Qualifications:



The Executive Director will be a compassionate, caring, Christian, and a passionate believer in the mission of NeighbourLink Parkland, while being an attendee of a Christian Church and living in the greater Parkland area. Reference from a pastor or other senior church leader from the church you attend will be requested if selected for an interview.

Possess strong interpersonal, leadership and conflict resolution skills, including good verbal and written communication skills.

Understand the financial aspects of managing a non-profit association including making financial grant applications and organizing fundraising activities to ensure that the annual income budget is achieved.

Strong collaboration skills to work with staff members in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with our member churches, donors, social agencies, within the local community, and within the office. Proficient in making public presentations.

Knowledge of local, Provincial and Federal non-profit organizational requirements to ensure that NeighbourLink Parkland programs are delivered effectively.

Possess a Grade 12 high school diploma. A relevant post-secondary qualification will be an asset, like social work, with a minimum of 5 years experience working in a related health or human services environment.

Training and knowledge in the areas of mental health first aid, suicide and crisis intervention, volunteer management, and social service resource navigation will be an asset.

Hours of work:



- Permanent, full time

- 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm, with occasional evening and weekend hours required.

A vehicle, with a valid Class 5 driver's license and insurance is required to complete job duties.

Criminal Record check, including Vulnerable Sector check is required for successful candidate.

Salary will be dependent upon qualifications, with health and wellness benefits.
