The Organization

The Edmonton North Primary Care Network is an organization passionate about creating healthier communities! Opening in 2007, the Edmonton North PCN is one of 40 Primary Care Networks operating in Alberta. Our priority is helping our patients live their best life and to provide them with the tools to improve and or maintain good health.

We deliver this service to over 30,000 patients through a network of over 150 physicians in 65 clinics with a dedicated team of over 110 employees. Each member of our team of healthcare providers plays a specific role in improving, coordinating, and delivering primary health services. Our team is composed of nurses, nurse practitioners, behavioral health consultants, social workers, registered dietitians, exercise specialists, and quality improvement and administrative staff.

The Opportunity

As the Executive Director, reporting to the Board of the Edmonton North PCN, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership, oversight, and implementation of the organizations strategic plan. This includes promoting awareness of mandates, goals, and established outcomes of the ENPCN and ensuring the key stakeholder relationships with Alberta Health Services and other key partners are fostered and implemented to ensure excellence in primary care delivery. As the operational leader, you will lead the implementation of the strategic plan ensuring operational plans will support and meet the key strategic imperatives.

As a key advisor, thought leader and advocate for the ENPCN, you will also be responsible for ensuring the Board is well informed and prepared to make planning decisions that will result in optimum outcomes for the ENPCN, and the patients it serves.

Finally, as the Executive Director you will lead, oversee, and motivate a professional team of health care providers that will be responsible for operational delivery of the PCN's mandate and goals and objectives.

This is a fulltime contract position ending on or before April 30, 2026, with a good possibility of extension. The ENPCN will be part of the upcoming regionalization of primary care by the Government of Alberta that will likely occur in the middle of 2026.

Location

The position is in north Edmonton and requires on site leadership.

You will also have demonstrated experience overseeing finance, human resource, IT and or communications functions.

As a leader your background will demonstrate an ability to build teams and key relationships in a positive and productive manner. You value input and have a natural ability to build programs and services to meet patient and/or stakeholder needs. You enjoy tackling complex issues and can see all sides and can work effectively with others to make informed decisions ensuring they have the required policy and background information. You are an excellent and timely communicator and succinctly and clearly convey and set direction and priorities that will meet both patients, staff and stakeholder and board needs. Thought leadership excites you and you have a keen desire to find solutions that make a difference. You are highly organized and take a 'hands on' approach to ensure the highest quality in service delivery, and financial and operational management.
