Are you looking for a childcare organization where you can utilize your skillset to make a difference? SADCS is seeking a collaborative, outgoing, and forward-thinking Executive Director, Programming to join our leadership team, and help guide our centre into its next chapter. This role is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and management of programming within the centre, in addition to providing leadership to educators, ensuring adherence to provincial regulations and licensing requirements, driving implementation of licensing current practices, and serving as the primary contact for families regarding program and classroom matters.
This position will report directly to the Board of Directors, and will work in close partnership with the Executive Director, Administration to ensure the centre operates smoothly, consistently, and in alignment with the organization's mission, values, and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Staff Support
Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to educators and room leads, including new employee onboarding.
Conduct regular classroom visits, coaching, and performance feedback.
Create a positive team culture that reflects professionalism, respect, and collaboration.
Programming and Curriculum
Facilitate and provide continued oversight of early-learning program development, implementation, and evaluation, in alignment with current best practices.
Mentor and support educators in curriculum planning, documentation, and reflective practice.
Coordinate field trips, special events, and enrichment activities.
Child Safety and Licensing
Foster an inclusive, nurturing environment that prioritizes children's well-being, safety and development.
Monitor health and safety practices, ratios, supervision and daily procedures.
Ensure classrooms meet all licensing standards and organizational policies.
Family Partnerships
Serve as the primary contact for families regarding concerns, child developmental questions, or program feedback.
Support warm, professional communication between staff and families.
Initiation and participation in intake meetings, developmental conversations, and transition planning.
Administration
Assist the Executive Director of Administration with human resources, staffing, scheduling, incident reporting, policy updates, budgeting and other administrative tasks.
Provide program reports to the Board of Directors as required.
Attend staff meetings, Board of Director meetings, in-services, and continuing education opportunities.
Represent the centre professionally in community partnerships and external meetings.
Be thoroughly committed to the centre's mission, vision, and values.
Flexible language requirement:
French or second language is considered an asset
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
Expected hours: Up to 44 hours per week
Licence/Certification:
Early Childhood Educator Level 3 (required)
Diploma in Early Childhood Education and/or Bachelor Degree in Early Child Education, Business Administration, Management or Human Resources (asset)
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in licensed childcare or early learning programs, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
Strong knowledge of current provincial childcare legislation and licensing requirements
Demonstrated experience in curriculum leadership, educator mentorship, and program evaluation
Proven ability to manage operations, staffing, and resources in a dynamic environment, including skills related to conflict resolution and coaching
Excellent written and spoken communication, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills
Commitment to inclusion, relational practice, and high-quality early education
Computer literacy, including strong skills in Microsoft Office, payroll systems, graphic design software (e.g., Canva), and social media accounts
Knowledge of budgeting and accounting principles
Current First Aid/CPR, criminal record check, Vulnerable Sector Search, and any other required clearances as requested
