Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Nipissing Wellness Ontario Health Team [NWOHT] was formed in 2019 in response to the Ministry of Health's ongoing restructuring of our provincial healthcare system. To date, we are a collaborative group of 30+ partners and affiliates who are working together with patients, families, and caregivers, to enhance healthcare across the Nipissing region.

We are looking to hire an experienced transformational leader as our new Executive Director. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, promote clinical integration, and support the collaborative effort to advance both our provincial mandate and our local vision. The role requires a healthcare leader with a strong history of leading cross-sectoral collaboration, system transformation, and relationship building across diverse communities and organizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership & System Transformation:



Provide leadership and oversight to achieve the NWOHT TPA objectives.

Collaborate with regional, provincial, and local leaders to advance OHT initiatives.

Champion health equity and apply population health approaches across all initiatives.

Advocate provincially to ensure the unique needs of NWOHT communities are recognized, including Indigenous and Francophone populations.

Infrastructure & Partnership Development:



Build the foundations, resources, partnerships, and infrastructure needed to carry out the Collaboration Council's direction.

Oversee implementation of clinical integration strategies, including planning and execution to achieve agreed outcomes.

Lead membership expansion and advance governance in alignment with provincial guidance.

Support the growth of the NWOHT Primary Care Network (PCN), ensuring administrative capacity to advance clinical initiatives.

Digital Innovation & Clinical Engagement:



Guide the development of a digital strategy that meets partner needs, supports the quintuple aim, and aligns with Ontario's digital-first priorities.

Strengthen physician and clinician engagement, with emphasis on primary care participation.

Ensure effective engagement of patients, families, and caregivers,

Embed learning health system approaches, incorporating research, evaluation, and continuous improvement

.



Financial & Operational Management:



Provide oversight of financial planning, management, and reporting to the Ministry, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.

Lead quality and risk management activities.

Maintain senior-level relationships with the Ministry of Health, Ontario Health, and OHT support programs (e.g., RISE, ADVANCE).

Stakeholder Relations & Engagement:



Build and sustain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including community leaders, organizations, patient, families and caregivers.

Represent the NWOHT at forums, events, and public venues, protecting and enhancing the organization's reputation.

Support governance bodies, including the Steering and Collaboration Councils, through reporting and strategic advice.

Anticipate and address emerging opportunities and risks within the healthcare system.

Team Leadership & Development:



Provide leadership to staff, including supervision, coaching, performance monitoring, and professional development.

Champion an inclusive, diverse, and psychologically safe work environment.

Support working groups, networks, and collaboration council by creating agendas, and minutes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION:

Master's degree in health sciences, healthcare administration, social services, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience in healthcare or a similarly complex service delivery environment.

Proven record of leading transformative change and guiding teams through complex transitions.

Strategic leadership experience across multiple healthcare sectors.

Demonstrated success in managing complex projects and partnerships.

Experience in primary care and home care delivery preferred.

Experience in fostering and establishing transformative partnerships.

Strong understanding of population health, health equity, and integration within Indigenous and Francophone communities (preferred).

Experience with learning health systems and human-centered design considered an asset.

Governance and consensus-building experience at the strategic level.

Demonstrated ability to establish new partnerships, infrastructure, and integration strategies.

Commitment to improving patient, provider, and population health outcomes

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Visionary, forward-thinking leadership.

Deep understanding of healthcare systems and sector complexities.

Proven experience working with stakeholders such as the Ministry of Health, Public Health, Regions and Municipalities.

Political acumen and the ability to navigate sensitive decision-making processes. Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Advanced negotiation, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.

Financial planning, management, and budget oversight expertise.

Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrated change management expertise.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $110,000.00-$140,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in North Bay, ON P1A 2A8
