- Executive Director, Lac La Biche & District Chamber of Commerce
The Executive Director provides leadership and direction to the achievement of the Lac La Biche & District Chamber of Commerce's mission and objectives which are to:
1. Promote a shop local mindset,
2. Provide networking opportunities for businesses to connect, and
3. Advocate on behalf of business to influence government policy.
Our Board is looking for an Executive Director for a long term fit to be responsible for overseeing the delivery of all programs and services, membership growth, membership retention, daily operations, and community and public relations.
We have some exciting things planned for our Chamber, and finding the right person is key to achieving our objectives.
The Position:
Work week will consist of 20 hours
Rate of pay from $23 - $26 per hour
Build trust within the community, develop relationships with Membership and keep Members informed through regular communications, social media, news bulletins, meetings, and networking activities. Solicit feedback and respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
Maintain records of communications, events, and activities.
Work with the board of directors to develop and implement the Lac La Biche & District Chamber of Commerce short- and long-term objectives. Monitor, document, and report progress of objectives on a regular basis.
Work and learn with the Alberta Chambers of Commerce on current practices and news, online conferences, and applicable training.
Ensure compliance of accepted business practices, contracts, government regulations, employment standards and bylaws.
Who You Are:
You have strong leadership skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong public speaking, interpersonal and negotiation skills
You must be a highly motivated self-starter who works well under limited supervision.
You are organized, efficient, resourceful, and dependable.
You have the ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines.
Proficiency in office computer applications, specifically a membership program and social media is a must.
Knowledge of Lac La Biche County and Northeastern Alberta business area is essential
Experience with other business associations, economic development offices or non-profit associations is an asset.
