As the Executive Director you will have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our residents and their families by taking on responsibility for the overall management and operations of the home. You will leverage your leadership skills to engage employees and achieve optimum standards of care, service and value for our residents while consistently working within budgetary goals and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:



Collaborate - Work with multidisciplinary teams at the community, regional and support team to support the health and well-being of all residents Manage - Oversee all operations and expenditures related to funding streams, balancing funding envelopes and ensuring all accountabilities are met with respect to jurisdictional authorities and Extendicare policies/procedures Comply - Ensure all practices are in compliance with relevant Provincial and Federal Acts and Regulations, including Collective Agreements Lend a Helping Hand - Take a hands-on approach to supporting managers, employees, residents, and families through their day-to-day priorities Cultivate - Hire, train and engage a team of managers and employees respect the Resident Bill of Rights and deliver quality care in compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements Respond with HEART - Hear, Empathize, Acknowledge, Respond and Thank



Required Education, Credentials and Experience:



A university degree in Health, Gerontology, Business, Marketing or Social Services Your LTC Administrator Certification (where applicable) Minimum of five (5) years relevant health management experience including budgeting, operating statement analysis, labour relations and a thorough awareness of applicable legislation governing LTC operations Demonstrated ability to lead, engage and manage a sizeable multidisciplinary team, in a unionized environment Solid understanding of business planning processes and business metrics Experience in risk management activities and demonstrated knowledge of continuous quality improvement processes Passion to promote a person-centered care philosophy and work with seniors Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

responsabilites



Collaborer - Travailler avec des equipes multidisciplinaires au niveau communautaire, regional et de soutien afin de favoriser la sante et le bien-etre de tous les residents. Gerer - Superviser toutes les operations et depenses liees aux sources de financement, equilibrer les enveloppes financieres et veiller a ce que toutes les responsabilites soient respectees en ce qui concerne les autorites juridictionnelles et les politiques/procedures d'Extendicare. Se conformer - Veiller a ce que toutes les pratiques soient conformes aux lois et reglements provinciaux et federaux pertinents, y compris les conventions collectives. Apporter son aide - Adopter une approche pratique pour soutenir les gestionnaires, les employes, les residents et les familles dans leurs priorites quotidiennes. Cultiver - Recruter, former et mobiliser une equipe de gestionnaires et d'employes qui respectent la Charte des droits des residents et fournissent des soins de qualite conformement aux politiques, procedures et exigences reglementaires. Diplome universitaire en sante, gerontologie, commerce, marketing ou services sociaux. Certification d'administrateur de soins de longue duree (le cas echeant). Au moins cinq (5) ans d'experience pertinente en gestion de la sante, y compris la budgetisation, l'analyse des etats financiers, les relations de travail et une connaissance approfondie de la legislation applicable regissant les operations de soins de longue duree. Capacite averee a diriger, mobiliser et gerer une equipe multidisciplinaire importante, dans un environnement syndique. Solide comprehension des processus de planification commerciale et des indicateurs commerciaux. Experience dans les activites de gestion des risques et connaissance averee des processus d'amelioration continue de la qualite. Passion pour la promotion d'une philosophie de soins centree sur la personne et le travail avec les personnes agees. Doit fournir une verification des antecedents en vue d'un travail aupres de personnes vulnerables (y compris une verification des antecedents criminels) complete et a jour (datant de moins de six mois) ou etre dispose a en obtenir une.
