The Child Protection Worker plays a crucial role in safeguarding the welfare of children and ensuring their safety within the community. This position involves assessing risk factors, investigating allegations of abuse or neglect, and developing intervention strategies to support children and families. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough assessments of reported cases involving children at risk.
Knowladge of Signs of Safety protocals
Develop and implement safety plans to protect children and support families.
Collaborate with law enforcement, social services, and other community organizations to ensure comprehensive care.
Maintain accurate documentation of case files, including assessments, interventions, and follow-up actions.
Provide support and resources to families, including referrals to counseling and rehabilitation services.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in child protection practices.
Advocate for the rights and needs of children within various systems, including schools, healthcare, and legal frameworks.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
Experience working with children or in child welfare settings is highly desirable.
Familiarity with issues related to working with persons with disabilities is a plus.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining case documentation.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Commitment to upholding ethical standards and confidentiality in all aspects of work.
