Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance at Medavie Health Services and with operational responsibility to the President of EMANB, the Executive Director of Finance is accountable for all MHSNB financial functions.
  • Major duties include the leading and provision of financial management and financial reporting, overseeing budget preparation, directing the maintenance of general and cost accounting systems, implementing finance policies to assist in the administration of the business and other responsibilities as assigned.
  • This position is a member of MHSNB\'s Senior Management team and will work directly with and support MHSNB\'s President on matters related to MHSNB financial effectiveness, economic stability, legislative requirements, contract compliance and all other finance related tasks and responsibilities necessary to support MHSNB operations. Other duties include reporting to the regulator on finance matters and overseeing the administration of billing policies and collection of service fees.
Qualifications
  • As the ideal candidate, you possess a post-secondary education in Business (BComm/BBA), a professional accounting designation (CPA), and preferably 10 years\' leadership experience in financial management and managing staff and leading teams; but, will consider a minimum of five (5) years with combined experience and education.
  • You have sound business judgment and think strategically; you possess strong analytical, problem solving, time management and organizational skills and have excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • You thrive in a fast paced environment, are comfortable managing numerous priorities and have a flexible nature and collaborative style.
  • You have experience in preparing audited Financial Statements. Proven ability to work as a team leader at a local, provincial and inter-agency level with the ability to coordinate large groups of people is key to your success. Experience managing in a complex organization with multiple reporting lines and experience in the service industry and/or health care sector, are definite assets.
  • Bilingualism would be considered an asset for this position.
