With an eye for finance, you can analyze the numbers to ensure appropriate profit margins, increase efficiencies, and assess capacity. You also love growing and developing the business, keeping an ear to the ground for, and seeking new opportunities where we can contribute even more to the ever-changing renewable energy sector. Some (but not all) of your responsibilities:

  • Develop, refine and implement the VEC Business Plan
  • Oversee daily business operations, including administration, procurement, and vendor relationships
  • Inspire and lead the VEC management team, including holding accountabilities, managing performance and acting as a supportive mentor and guide
  • Promote and embed B-Corp values and community engagement
  • Foster and grow a dynamic, engaged culture
  • Build community partnerships and alliances
  • Prepare and manage budget, ensuring costs are controlled and revenues are maximized
  • Look for and pursue development opportunities to responsibly grow the company
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Business Management, Leadership, Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience managing a business of 15-18 employees anticipating $5 million in sales
  • Knowledge and understanding of a worker\xe2\x80\x99s co-op is considered a significant asset
  • Organized, meticulous, attention to detail and technologically savvy
  • Able to inspire, motivate and lead a team and foster a strong culture
  • Exceptional communication skills and experience with having challenging conversations
Please note, VEC\xe2\x80\x99s warehouse is located south of Duncan. While there is no designated office space and you\xe2\x80\x99ll be working from home for some of the time, it\xe2\x80\x99s expected that you will be available to come to the VEC location for a variety of reasons and sometimes on short notice.
