About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice-President Operations, Northern Zone, the Executive Director Community and Rural Health, Northern Zone, is responsible for the coordination, management, and leadership of clinical and program operations including rural health services, diagnostic and therapeutic services, primary health care, and chronic disease management. This position works in close collaboration with and the Zone Executive Medical Director (ZMED)and Executive Director Health Services (Regional/Acute Care). This role will lead the development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of operational plans which allow the health services to deliver safe and high-quality care and is accountable to develop high performing teams as well as utilize resources in an efficient and sustainable manner.

The Executive Director Community and Rural Health, Northern Zone, is responsible for the coordination and oversight of service integration and issues management, community partnerships, and engagement with foundations and auxiliaries. The Executive Director also promotes and supports the clinical, research, and academic mandates of Nova Scotia Health within their sites.

Qualifications

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Post secondary education in health-related discipline, health administration, business administration or related field
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in health or public administration field preferred
  • Registration with relevant health or professional discipline/college or association required
  • Certified Health Executive designation considered an asset
  • 5-7 years of relevant senior leadership experience with progressive accountabilities for financial, strategic and people management to deliver high quality services within a complex, integrated service model

Hours

Permanent, full time position; 75 hours biweekly

Travel throughout the Zone will be required

Anticipated Start Date of February 20, 2024

Compensation and Incentives

$71.76 - $89.70 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. (Permanent Long Assignments Only)

Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
