Larga is a residence for guests travelling from Nunavut while tending to their medical needs. Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team on a term as an Executive Chef/Kitchen Supervisor. This role is essential in ensuring the delivery of high-quality food service and maintaining a welcoming environment for our guests and staff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, and a strong understanding of food safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to grow within the food industry while contributing to a positive dining experience.

The primary role and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:



o Lead the team of cooks and kitchen staff

o Ensures three nutritious meals are provided daily and that any dietary restrictions are considered; Prepares breakfast, lunch, bagged lunches, suppers and snacks.

o Prepare daily/weekly menus

o Prepare food orders

o Provide report to incoming shift re: daily changes, meal prep, specialized meal requests, numbers of clients departing and arriving.

Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and presentable dining area and kitchen for the comfort of guests;

o Ensure all health regulations pertaining to food preparation and cleanliness are followed.

o Oversees the department staff to ensure that the dining area is cleaned as required throughout the day.

Responsible for timely and accurate completion of any administrative areas;

o Coordinates staff/safety meetings

o Prepare staff schedules for the department

o Verify staff timesheets prior to payroll processing. Approves vacation/leave requests.

Qualifications



Must have 5 years previous kitchen experience

Food Safe Certification

Must have experience in supervising staff

Able to read, write, comprehend and speak English fluently.

Must be able to successfully pass a medical clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $27.00-$33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 7.5 per week

Work Location: In person
