Key Responsibilities:
Forecast recruiting needs, advertise job openings, screen resumes and pre-employment assessments, and perform background checks.
Schedule appointments, answer phone calls and emails, and respond to correspondence.
Assist Executive leadership with project coordination, liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure the best pricing is obtained.
Coordinate team events and employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
File and retrieve corporate records, documents and reports.
Coordinate domestic & international travel logistics for the Executive Team.
Compile and edit letters and internal memos.
Review policies and handbooks that explain company operations.
Prepare onboarding kits for new hires and conduct first-day orientation
Assist in the creation and maintenance of fair and competitive compensation and benefits packages. Ensure that compensation practices comply with current laws and regulations and remain competitive with industry standards.
Collaborate closely with Department Managers to craft and implement training and development plans.
Plan quarterly and annual performance review sessions with Department Managers.
Maintain organizational charts and detailed job descriptions along with salary records.
Develop, communicate and implement Human Resources policies such as professional grooming standards, code of conduct, equipment use, privacy & cyber security and health & safety best practices.
Manage employee relations with diplomacy - handle employee complaints and labour disputes and work with Department Managers closely to reach satisfactory resolutions and preserve positive and harmonious working relationships.
Participate in collective bargaining negotiations and interpretations of union contracts.
Develop and administer health & safety programs, maintain First Aid kit supplies, conduct safety inspections and manage WorkSafe incident reports and records.
Other job-related duties and projects as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Proven work experience in Human Resources or Recruitment, must be CHPR certified or actively working towards certification.
Experience working within the hotel industry is an asset.
Solid understanding of labor legislation, investigations procedures for BC
Must have excellent time management, organisational, problem-solving, interpersonal and written & verbal communication skills.
Highly proficient in MS Office e.g. Excel and Word.
Must be a Team Player who collaborates well with a large hotel family that celebrates diversity.
Works well under pressure, able to meet deadlines in a calm demeanor and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Professional and polished.
Must be energetic and motivated.
