Job Description

The Truckers Association of Nova Scotia (TANS) is a provincial association representing over 500 aggregate haulers through 20 county associations. We are currently seeking a professional and organized executive administrative assistant, to support our daily operations at our office in Truro.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and Board of Directors

Handle phone and email communication, filing and general correspondence

Assist members with compliance documentation and form distribution

Coordinate meetings and conventions; take minutes and prepare reports.

Maintain strong communication between the board of directors, executive director and members.

Support the association in regulatory and compliance related tasks

Perform basic bookkeeping duties (A/P, A/R, monthly reports) using Simply Accounting/SAGE software

Assist with website updates and social media communication

Qualifications:



Minimum 3 years of experience in administrative or clerical roles.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); social media familiarity

Working knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting software (preferably SAGE)

Experience in the trucking or non profit sector is considered an asset

Willingness to travel within Nova Scotia for occasional meetings and events
